The timid darker world

Tim and Stout were two mice residing in a city called offense-hood. This place was totally unpredictable. Once you step out of your arena the chances of coming back in one piece was exceptional. This city was filled with various slaughterers who would live on each other’s flesh.

These two mice lived together and were great buddies. Tim was very shy and always used to think pessimistically. While Stout was totally opposite of him, but both took care of each other.

Tim and Stout had two diverse dogmas of living their life. The latter was a go-getter. He never looked at consequences before taking the first step. He was happy and accomplished whatever he sought after.

While Tim was always petrified of stepping out of his home. He could think of every single incident that could make him a dead meat before going anywhere. He seldom used to step out.

Stout used to manage all the household inventories. And bring food for Tim.

One night Tim asked Stout.
“How do you gather strength to step into the treacherous world. Don’t you ever think about getting killed.”

Stout smiled at his question.
“There is nothing extra ordinary in me that makes me durable. Everyday has a unique gift hidden for us. If you fear of getting killed then what is the purpose of living.

You can die in this sewer by distress living without any kind of experience for as many years or you can die by living the life gifted to experience the world around us.”

Tim wasn’t convinced with the advice.
“The only place where I get peace is by closing my eyes. I don’t see my mates running to save their life, or someone getting trapped in a cage, big creatures relishing on our meat.

Its bliss here. I am protected by all threats.”

Stout was annoyed by this philosophy of partial living. He said “It makes no sense in living this way. God has given us a life to explore this planet and learn new things. Death is a part in the way of life. How can you sacrifice your entire lifespan for just evading a fragment of undesirable outcome?

I know we all fear from something. But fearing the fear itself is an end for all achievements. Don’t stop eating cheese coz it is used as a means for our end by using it as a trap, instead learn to ravish it without getting stuck.”

Tim still didn’t budge from his attitude. Finally a day came when a snake entered the sewer and ate Tim. Well Tim didn’t see his death, but experienced it for sure.

accepting your fears is the first step to overcome them.. we fear to even accept that we fear.. there is nothing unnatural about fear.. it is designed my nature to make sure we remain alive for as long as possible by avoiding highly dangerous situations.. but we must never let fear take charge of our lives.. if fear helps us survive, courage helps us live.. one must strike a balance. one must learn to know, when to take that risky step ahead and when to back off... :)
