“With great powers come great responsibilities.” A quote which is said many times by us to people endowed with such powers. Responsibility should take into account the pros & cons of his/her doing.
The above situation is a latter part of the story. Let us look into the preliminary stage of it. If you tell a youngster - You will be responsible for your own doings. He will innocently say why me? My parents will back me up. And this scene will continue till the time their backing prevails in the society.
If you tend to closely look at the young generation, you will tend to find they have gone too ahead of what we could imagine at their age. They are doing things which took us ages to succeed. I am not criticizing or jealous of it. The think that is lacking is the understanding of the gift.
Well in the age of booming economic situation, the basic cult is to earn money and spend it. The importance of money is unaccounted. Today love is bargained for cash. Kids are given latest gadgets to spend time.
Ipod,Playstation,Blackberry,etc. A fake smile on a child’s face is given to his dad. Child thinks that his friends got this way back and I am the laggard.
I still remember the happiness when I received my first secondhand bicycle. The ownership, the adrenal feel was just worth experiencing. I miss that in today’s digital age.
Once I heard a hindi film dialogue which said the heat in the power of money can’t be controlled. That’s true. Frustration occurs when you can’t dominate inspite of money.
At the end of the day all that matters is being a responsible kid. Resources may be more than required, but the sense of understanding the importance of it should be at its peak. When you start earning you feel the pinch in your pocket while spending money.
