Living slowly

Rohan asks his mom: If earth rotates why don’t we feel it. His mom replies him scientifically about the huge sphere moving at just 1070 miles/hr. Rohan is not yet convinced and seeks out to find an answer. Somehow we have also ignored this question for bookish knowledge.

Have we ever seen the sun come up or the moon passing by? Why not. Ahh! We are always out of time. Why do we live life so fast to skip the fun of living it.

One thing that has galvanised this is the discovery of multi-tasking. Eating food while watching TV, listening to music while driving, speaking on phone while walking, etc...

I remember once I had offered food to my office driver in transit. He said the fun in eating slow is to realise each and every moment of it. That gives justice to it and suffices the hunger.

I thought over it and this principle indeed applied to all aspects of life. We never broadened our horizon. While travelling just once take interest in seeing the details of terrains passing by and you will be pleased on nature’s creation.

If we move so fast we wont be able to remember what we are doing and there wont be any memories worth treasuring.

The earth never moved slowly, it retained its speed with the life on earth. Humans advanced faster and are now speeding to discover their roots.

Lastly just a thought to consider. Think fast but realise your surroundings at the same time.  Acting faster may win you the race, but appreciating things around you will win you the purpose of life.
